With half of the population living in cities and many more looking to become urban dwellers every day, there is a voracious appetite for rankings to compare cities. Trying to understand which factors make a city more attractive to live than others starts with the simple task of sampling these rankings of the top cities around the world. While the overall trend is to migrate north, only a small fraction of the population will arrive on one of these cities, though.
